A Brachioplasty, which is also known as an arm lift, is a cosmetic surgery that helps the reshaping of the back upper part of your arm. This procedure is performed with an incision from your arm to your elbow and removes extra skin and tissue, therefore, making your arm look smoother. Once the incision is made, the surgeon will remove any extra folds of skin and fat and then suture the remaining tissue back together. Often, one decides to get a brachioplasty after they have gained a lot of weight and then lost it. When gaining weight, the skin will begin to slowly stretch. If a lot of weight is then lost, this can cause there to be a build-up of extra skinfolds of tissue. A Brachioplasty is considered a body-contouring surgery.
